Puppet number 2 Posted by spam on Jan 28, 2008
Hiya, Spam ere.

just wanted to post you guys a photo of my second puppet.
Her name is Adria. she was made using the video tutorials by Paul louis on www.expertvillage.com. i found it from a previous post somewhere on here so thankyou to whoever posted it. The videos are great and Paul explains everything really well so if you are a beginner at puppet making I would highly recommend having a butchers at his vids.
a bit more basic than my first, (should have done it the other way really!) but i wanted to have a go at making a furry puppet. i found on old teddy (not mine) with a t-shirt on and it fits Adria perfectly. at the minute i am building puppets for fun but since Professor Albert (my first puppet) went to school there have been some talks of possible orders. now thats scary.
anyway i hope you like her. let me know what you think.

cheers Spam

Adria looks great.  I've also made a puppet follow the instructions by Paul Louis.  In fact the puppet picture next to this post is the product, I call him Gilbert.  They are a very simple puppet, but I think that's part of why I like them.  In a few hours you can have a finished puppet that looks great and is fun to use.

I've used this particular puppet style twice already in a workshop style setting and it's simplicity is an asset.

By the way the Professor looks awesome.

She is wickedly cute....love the coloring!  Where did you get the fur color?
Re: Puppet number 2 Posted by spam on Jan 28, 2008
The fur was bought from a local craft shop called 'Hobbycraft'. I dont know if you get these shops where you are but the shop had a small selection of bright furry fabric. this was great because i havent gone into dyeing my own fabrics yet. the only downside to the furr ( and my ever patient wife will agree)  is the little 'fuzzies' that seem to get everywhere when you cut it.
I'm not kidding either, we even managed to find some in her tropical fish tank. i thought it added a bit of colour but the fluff was removed under health and safety!

cheers

Great job.  She's adorable!!!  Try using a razor instead of scissors on the backside of the fur.  It cuts down on the fuzzies.
