Hi Erik - welcome to the group!

You were probably just joking, but Douglas and Sturgess in San Francisco offers a product called flexible slip, or mannequin rubber. It's a liquified clay slip made with liquid latex. I've never used it myself, and I don't know if it has any clay-like properties as it sets up, or if it would meet your needs. It seems like it wouldn't be too hard to make your own if you had access to some dry, powdered clay, or even regular liquid clay slip.

I know that people add a number of other materials (fillers) to liquid latex to change its properties, or to make it cheaper to use. There are also flexible polymer clays that might be useful for some jobs - though they aren't quite as flexible as latex after curing.

I really like the examples of your work on your site - and not just your puppets. Thanks for joining us!
