Beautiful work?  Would love to hear more about the two puppet pics you posted.  The bare wood on the first one is exquisite.  What is it?

There are some file size limits on the images that you  can upload to the Gallery or even attach to a post but it is pretty much just a matter of finding the images you want to upload on your computer via the browse button on posting screens. You are required to make at least one post before you have access to upload to the Gallery so that may have been what was confusing before you posted.

If you create a user gallery of your own make sure to add some images to it before you log out or move on to something else.  There is a bit of a glitch in the program that causes the user gallery you create to "disappear" if you don't do this. If that happens let me know and I can go in and manually fix it.

Welcome Bhanu.  You puppet is very nice.  Are puppets very common in India.  I know many countries have their own tradition style of puppets.

In India puppetry, traditionally is a folk or village art and we have different forms.....string, rod, glove & shadow. Stories based on epics, mythology & religion is used for the shows. Stories or episodes from epic Ramayana & Mahabharatha are the main content for any traditional puppet shows. At present all the traditional form is under threat from the modern communication plus not partonised by the village community. Now, only few families are practising this art form. However, the modern puppetry is growing well among educators, students & voluntry groups.

India has not developed its contemporary form like the West or Europe. There are very few troupes in each Indian
state that perform regularly. There are no theatres exclusively for puppetry maintained by the govt or private bodies
though the traditional puppetry is nearly 2000 yrs old!!!...especially the shadow form. The economics of the art form is
also a complicated one with poor response in many states. The traditional puppeteers are facing hard time and are not
interested to continue their shows & some of them are shifting to alternate source of income.

Thanks to electronic media and www that we are able to interact and understand the forms available around the world.
I have been conducting hands on workshop to promote the art form. Yet, I have a long way to go compared to all you guys...
