Actually, the songs I know are not those! I know 'Dar By de molen' (sorry about spelling), and my mind lost the title of the other at the moment. I'll think of it! My town here in Iowa celebrates it's Dutch heritage every May for three days. Tulip Festival - everyone wears their Dutch costumes, wooden shoes etc. We eat poffertjes and saucijzenbroodjes. I was raised on balkenbrij too. We even celebrate Sinterklaas Day in December! Our school's sports teams are called the Dutchmen, our high school band marches in wooden shoes! Well, again welcome! (from one Dutchwoman to another!)

Wait... where in Iowa? We lived in Iowa City for four years, and that tulip festival sounds familiar...

Actually, there are two towns in Iowa that have Tulip Festival. The one by Iowa City would be Pella, Iowa. Of course being from the OTHER Dutch town I would say that ours is much better than Pella's!! But people in Pella would say the opposite.
Yes, both of these Dutch towns have acres of tulips! Unfortunately, the weather sometimes takes a toll on the tulips. But we try to have all kinds blooming for the festivals.
