School Nurse Posted by spam on Mar 17, 2008
Hiya Folks,
Just wanted to post a few pictures of my latest puppet. She has been made for my local Primary school to help the First Aider with the smaller children. Hopefully my puppet will help cheer up the kids and take their minds off the accident they have had.
I'm pleased with how she turned out. Her left hand is operated using a wooden dowel inserted at her elbow. She is holding a piece of Bandage/gauze. I havent had a go at poseable fingers yet so i just stitched her thumb and finger together with the gauze in between.
I'd be glad of any feedback you can offer, good or bad!
Also I havent figured out a name for her yet so if anybody has any suggestions I'd appreciate that.
I thought about Nurse Emily but I'm not sure Emily suits her.
cheers

She is a very non-threatening school nurse! (unlike some real nurses that I have seen!!) She should be a great way to cheer up the children when they visit the nurse!! WELL DONE!

She looks great. Very gentle. I think the kids will have a lot of fun with her when they visit the school nurse.

Nice job on the puppet. Did you make her costume? She looks like a Darla to me.

Hiya,
Thanks for all the great comments. I cant take credit for her costume. i bought it on Ebay. its a bear factory outfit. they seem to be a great size for puppets. except the hats have ear holes in them. thats why i put her hair through them!!

Very cute, I hope that it comforts many kids in her career as a nurse.
