Hi! Posted by zaza on Mar 24, 2008
Hi!
I'm new here on the forum and quite new to puppetry. I've made two puppets so far and I'm looking for information and inspiration for my third.
I'm from the Netherlands and it's really hard finding dutch websites about puppetry. So I hope I can learn a lot here!

You have found a place with many talented people who love to help out any way that they can.
Hopefully you can get some pictures of your new puppets so that we can see them?
Let us know how we can help you in your new adventure with puppets?

Welcome to P&S Zaza. It would be great to see some pictures of your first two puppets and if you have any questions as your look toward your third, Just ask. The question won't be if any one will reply, its more an issue of how many. Everyone here is very helpful. And I haven't asked or heard a question that they haven't been able to answer.

What they said above.
but seriously inspiration is right in front of you, or can be found during construction of a puppet that you have no idea what it's going to be, all you know is that your building it.

Welcome to Puppets and Stuff! We recently welcomed another person from the Netherlands - Gompie - you should introduce yourself to her!! I am 100% Dutch although I was raised in the States, my Grandmother came over as an infant with her family and it was a bit further back on the other side of my family. We still celebrate our Dutch heritage here in my town. I am glad you could Breng ons een bezoek here at Puppets and Stuff! You will learn a lot here. (I do not know how to read Dutch, just a few phrases and words and I still eat quite a few Dutch foods - you know, erwten soep, saucijzenbroodjes, snijboonen, olie bollen, sinterklaasje, and I was raised on balkenbrij). Anyway, welcome and I am sure Gompie should be along to say Hi!!

Hi:
Welcome. I'm new to the forum myself.
Being from Europe you have some wonderful opportunities. Check out Norman Schneider's site, figurrenschneider.de I believe, for some wonderful mouth and rod puppets in foam. He does amazing work.
For marionettes see Albrecht Rossers web site (address?). Although not in the Netherlands (Germany), both Norman and Albrecht do workshops in their particular specialties.
Take care,
MR
