ToonAsylum newest puppet Posted by Toon Asylum on Apr 06, 2008
Hello gang...
I just wanted to post some recent pics of the newest character from the ToonAsylum Studios. I'm calling him "Fang" for the time being. He is going to be a hand rod puppet. I've posted some pics the other day in my gallery without the hair and beard attached, here it's shown with the head completed. I've still got the body to finish which I hope will be done by the end of the week.
Thanks!!
Ran

He looks great! I really love the hair and beard, they must add a lot of extra movement when he is in action.
The hat is well thought out....did you make it yourself?
Can't wait to see it when it's all done.

Thanx for all the nice comments...
I did construct the hat. It was surprisingly simple. I used craft aka "fun" foam to stiffen the brim. Then covered the entire thing with good ole standard green fleece. I was pleased with the way it turned out. I really like the movement you get with all those ostrich feathers, very animated. Thanks again for all the great feedback!! I'll post some videos once I get him completed.
Thanx -

His name may be Fang, but I think that he is a teddy bear inside!! He is fantastic!!! Reminds me of the monsters from Where the Wild Things Are.

I love this guy. Like spoon he reminds me a lot of Dr. Teeth but at the same time he has his own earthy persona. Great job.
