Introduction Posted by MRHIP on Apr 07, 2008
Hi:

I signed up a few weeks back and am just now finding the time to post an introduction.  I'm also new to navigating forums in general, so I hope this message ends up posting in the correct area.

I'm in my late 40's, have an MFA in theatre and have done a lot of live theatre and theme park work, usually in props, FX and heavier areas like rigging, steel fabrication.  I am also a magician.

I decided about 9 months ago to go into teaching and am working on a secondary license in physics.  Wow, art and science!  Will they happily co-exist in my head?

I'm getting more into the individual/variety performing arts to keep my hand in.  I'm more than willing to pass my knowledge and experience on.

First name Marty, last initial R and MR HIP is a stage name I've used for going on 20 years.

Hey:

Pick away.  Look out for the cob webs.  I've worked at Disneyland, Knott's (old school), Old Tuscon Studios (sub-contractor) and several other parks, bunches of theatre, some film.  I've not done a lot of puppetry, but just about all my skills and knowledge would be applicable.

Just remembered.  I replied to some other posts on this thread earlier.  Check those replies for a starting point.
