please check out my new werewolf puppet!! Posted by spookydaddy on Apr 17, 2008
okay so i am pretty much a puppet novice. i have 2 incomplete ones i have worked on and then moved on and i have one finished one that needs to be tweaked. but here is a few videos of him in action. his arms look messed up cause i had sewn them on and then realized that i had his hands hanging so low that to have them in frame you'd end up showing too far down on his torso. so they are saftey pinned farther up. and his elbow was in the wrong place so i had to makeshift one my scooching stuffing and putting a couple pins in.
but that aside he doesn't look too bad.
the thumb grip broke so i need to make a new one. what is the best way to connect a thumb tube to the actual jaw? cause i foolishly sewed through it a bunch thinking that would hold better than hot glue but i was not considering how much i'd end up pulling on it and ripped it out. but i know i should probably use contact cement but i haven't had that as an option as it has been too cold up until now. but now it is warm enough to go out on my balcony with a ventalator. but would contact cement be the best thing to hold foam against gasket rubber? i am using crappy foam pads foam from jo ann's cause like i caise this is only my third puppet adventure so i have not yet invested into better quality materials.
i think i also need to modify his jaw cause even with a grip it takes more energy than it should to move it. it was cause i went about it trying to make him look a certain way more than base his design on function. i have sold plush monsters for the past couple years and this was an attempt to make a smaller version of my mascot Uncle Loomis the vegetarian werewolf.

but go check out my silly little videos of little Cousin Loomis.

I plan on making more cousins in different colors and give them to my friend all over the world so they can film stuff and send it back to me where i am going to make a show out of all of our collaborative work.
