I want to see more of Bunnytown. I should really order Playhouse Disney on cable.

Yeah, I get it on the regular Disney channel.

At first, I thought it was Disney animatronics, but I think it's rod puppetry.  Any thoughts? 

Nothing wrong with animatronics.  I worked around them at Disneyland when I worked in props/park decor there, but substituting them for real puppetry is kind of like substituting CGI for physical effects like pyro in a movie.

The Bunny Town puppets are very simple and that makes them very cool in my opinion.

Wow what great responses!  I thinkg that maybe a combo of the moving material and a light effect might work well.  We could have the puppeteers come up in between different pieces of the material at different heights to look like they are diving in and swimming.  The light effect would just add to the water idea.

Thanks for all of the advise.  I know most of you have been doing this longer than I have so I love reading what everyone says.  I probably read more than I post.  I have learned a lot from you all, thanks again.  I will try to post pictures later this summer after our production.

The creator made them as rod puppets with overbites...some animatronics is used for moving pieces such as sitting in cars or other vehicles..there are one person puppets and two people puppets as well...me oh my, me oh my!!!!!!

I need to make a dream state for a few minutes.  How would this best be achieved?  With a strobe light?  Or something else?
Also I need to have a cool effect for the look of water in the front of the stage?
Any ideas?

Ive seen Mylar used as a waters edge in a music video I did once upon a time. Perhaps some blue mylar would work for you?

Also Sonny mentioned vaseline on the lense. The very thought of this makes my eyes water for some reason. This is an old hollywood trick. A certain 1930 and 40s diva demanded to be shot this way to diffuse her aging appearance. Just a lil make up lesson for everyone here

A cleaner alternative is to experiment with a variety of pantyhose over the lense and see how each thickness effects the image.
