You would have to be in an asylum to post a video like this on-line...LOL...a ToonAsylum that is!
Here is a video test I did with my latest character Fang.

awwwwwwww he is soooooooooo cute.....and the puppet ain't bad either....HA HA HA!

I LOVE Fang!!!  I totally didn't realize how big he was in real life.  I think it is a FABULOUS video not only the technique but it shows his scale.  I expected him to be like as tall as your forearm but WOW he is amazing to say the least.  I love your technique with him.  My eyes were glued onto him the whole time and it would seem like you disappeared because of the great stage presence of Fang but then when you interacted with him it was just right.  He really captures ones attention.  Now because I didn't realize how large he was, I am intrigued by what materials you used on him for his eyes and hair.  Truly that song was deliciously perfect for Fang.  I LOVE HIM SO MUCH!!!  You have brought new insight to hand in mouth puppetry for me.  I ignored it for so long because I was getting bored with making the same puppet over and over again but now to see a larger puppet is inspiring.  Of course it will be at the bottom of a long list for me to try to accomplish but nonetheless exciting to spark something new for me in this area of puppetry....so thank you for that.

Seriously, that video made my night!  He is soooooooooo adorable!!!

Aloha and congratulations!

Hiya,
Wow Fang is AMAZING! like Nikole i didnt realise that he was sooo big. you are a very talented buildier, you manage to put so much character into your puppets. His hat is great, it moves really well on him. never heard the song before but it was written for fang to sing. cant wait to see more videos of him and to see what or who comes out of the assylum next!!!
dont know who the bald guy is but he seemed to work well with Fang.

cheers

Wonderful!  He is great. I really love his interaction with his hat. The very firs "adjustment" of his hat was so natural and then when it flew off his head it was great.

Now that I have seen him in action I have one suggestion for his right arm. Instead of attaching the arm statically to his abdomen you might want to think about running fishing line from his hand to the bottom of the neck or maybe even to his lower jaw.  This would give the right hand more movement. For example when he clinches his left hand and does the side to side I think the strung left hand would have mirrored the movement.

You didn't just creat a puppet you made a whole personality.  The song and the voice are exactly that kind I had imagined they would be.  Like everybody else I love the large scale.  His interaction with the hat and pipe were perfect.

Thanks everyone!!
But I must address the comments on his size...
He's not that big...really...it is a bit of forced perspective.
He is closer to the camera then I am(mainly 'cause I didn't want myself to be in the shot)
His size is not much bigger the Dempsey, Rags and Avaitor Albatross.
It wasn't planned to be a large puppet. I think what makes him seem bigger too is all his flowing hair/beard.Which was made with from pre-dyed ostrich fringe. His body was patterned from a $.99 beach ball. His eyes are acrylic domes I painted and covered. The shirt was a pain...if anyone wants to know how NOT to make a puppet shirt, shoot me an email...LOL
Thanks again to everyone on here. It's people like you who inspire and encourage me to get my creative juices flowing. I know if ever I have any questions or run into any problems , you're always here to help bail me out!!!
I did just finish measuring him and the results are in......
His head = approx. 10" dia.
his body = approx. 15" dia.
overall height = 21"
hat = 9"
