Culinary Creations! Posted by wyohming on May 13, 2008
Hello everyone,
I've recently been on a casting and molding course which was just fabulous! On the drive home I was thinking about how great it would be if i could make ice, icecream and cake molds that were a little bit different and whether there was a silicon out there that was ok to use with foods? Well I found this, its either called Flex & Bake or CopyFlex. I only seem to be able to find it in the US but I'd like to be able to supply it to the UK market!

Anyway.. here is the Chicago Mold Making schools website, particularly the gallery. Prepare to be amazed and inspired!!

The also sell the Flex & Bake start kits on this site.

I'll do a write up of my molding and casting course soon so watch this space!

Can't wait to read it.................. I do like watching the pastry Chefs in action building these great creations in competition on the food network.

I was doing a search on Geo Press which is the product mentioned in the site you linked to and found this site: http://www.bragdonent.com/foam.htm  While not exactly the same thing I thought I would ad the link here since it is related to the molding process. The site is geared toward the model builder for trains it looks like and the product the promote and sell is for making rocks and such. The keyword on this one would be Geodesic Foam Scenery.  It looks to be highly toxic to work with but might be useful to some folks.

Thanks Shawn............. that looks like it would work in a project I'm thinking about doing in my yard. I am really interested in this molding technique and can't wait to start working with it.
