Mad World by Irving Lambstein Posted by Sonny on May 19, 2008
One of my favorite latest remakes. I caught this cut on CSI and tracked it down to spoof it. Irving loved to sing it, so I let him.

Sonny
You ain't nothing but a hound dog............ but a Irving is a friend of mine. He looks so innocent. Reminds me of the kid on American Idol with the dreads. Very talented but scared to death. Irving you keep up the good work and in no time you will have your place right by Lamb Chop on the Hollywood walk of fame.
Great work Sonny.............. Love all the video effects. I still have not tried that program Sony Vegas Studio I bought that you suggested. It looks very intimidating. Most likle that I'm just scared I'll mess up.

Sonny, I love the Gary Jules cover of Mad World. I dig out my copy of Donnie Darko once in awhile just to watch the original Gary Jules music video, since he did it for the DD soundtrack.
They used it for a Halo 3 commercial that was awesome, too...
I had to download the Irving Lambstein FLV file so I can watch it at home, since I didn't bring headphones with me here to the library - and they obviously don't have speakers on their computers. I'm also not positive that Halo 3 commercial I linked on YouTube is the right one, for the same reason.
D'oh!

I looked at this the other day but had the sound off since the household was still asleep. Wow Sonny, you can sing!
Nice work on the puppetry and editing. I like the layering of voices.

Wow... you did some great stuff there, Sonny - I agree with Shawn about the layered voices effect. I also loved all of the things that you did with the backgrounds. The one where you showed Irving full-face and in profile at the same time was especially cool.
What I didn't catch when I first watched it muted yesterday was the bleated, next-to-the-last "mad world," and the series of bleats at the end. That had me literally laughing out loud. You're a funny, talented guy Sonny.

Great job Sonny, just watched you vid for the first time today. Awesome character to have sing the song. The carefree innocence with which we usually stereotype lambs contrasted with the seriousness of the song was very effective. I also thught the video effects were great. You give me a standard to aim for when I finally get around to producing my own videos.
