Hello From Marky Make UP Posted by MarkyMakeUp on May 28, 2008
Hello everyone

Ive recently joined this site and would like to start getting to know other puppeteers, especially in the LA area. I am in Hollywood and next Ill be adding a monthly live show to list of film credits.

I hope to learn and share stories with others here!

you can view some of my work on the puppet page of my website www.MarkyMakeUp.com

Well, I'm not from the LA area.  But welcome to puppets and stuff anyway.  I can see from your web site that you build a lot of latex puppets you do some very high quality and realistic work.  I look forward to seeing your creative energy at work.  I'm sure that the rest of the gang will be along to give you the full P&S welcome and I know those from you area will make sure they contact you.

Welcome to P&S,

Super website and a ton of cool pictures.

This forum is a collection of talents from around the world.
A community of friends sharing ideas and suggestions.

Please feel at home here and speak freely about your creations and future projects. We learn from each other, which is the real bonus.

I too work with latex. I find it very user friendly if you have patients.

Friends,
Sonny

Fun website.  I enjoyed looking at all your photos.  I really liked the chow mein puppet.  I am also a licensed esthetician so I worked with makeup, too.  I used to have clients come into the spa during Halloween to get their makeup done by me.  I always looked forward to Halloween and that is when I decided to do art rather than skin care.  Speaking of skin care, is that a galvanic machine behind you in that hobgoblin picture?

I also lived in southern california and worked at Disneyland.  I always wanted to work the Knott's Scary Farm during Halloween for makeup but of course it was a conflict of interest being employed by the mouse.  Sorry I didn't meet you when I was living there.  I now reside in Hawaii.

Welcome and glad that you joined us!  I'll have to dig up one of my photos of the Darth Maul that I did one Halloween.

Aloha,
Nikole

Hello and welcome to the club.

You have some great work and loved looking at the pictures.  I don't work with makeup but I do play with puppets (just trying to fit in). LOL

Thanks for taking the time to sign up and hope that you add any thoughts you have to our discussions, or ask any questions, we all love to help out.

As far as that machine goes I have no Idea lol. Its was set dressing for the movie so err um not my department. Im actually operating the puppets behind that chair. I had to squeeze in tight!
Halloween is my fave time of the year as well (cha ching!$) Ive tried working at Knotts and the Queen Mary one year and they told me that They dont really need talented people they just need people. They pretty much hire the first folks in line so dont worry about missing out. Im sure Disney had you well kept.

What are you doing in Hawaii and when can i come visit ;-)

I like to think i have a unique approach to puppet fabrication. I see a lot of human pupps on the site and in fact thats the kind of thing ive done the least! I look forward to learning and cant wait to talk shop with everyone!
