Movies with puppet shows Posted by Nikole H. on Jun 11, 2008
I am working and watching some old DVDs and while watching, "Spies Like Us," with Chevy Chase and Dan Akroid, in it there was a puppet show.  Got me to thinking....how many obscure movies can we think up that contain a puppet show.  I'm not saying a puppet movie like Dark Crystal or anything like that.  Think just a regular movie with live action actors that happen to contain a puppet show randomly in the movie.  I know it's a challenge but just wanted to see how many we can come up with.  Thought we could get our minds exercised a bit with a little trivia/game.

So my first addition to the list is Spies Like Us....gotta love those old 80s flicks.
It is a scene when they are in the desert base camp and a few locals are putting on a show with indonesian marionettes....soooooooooo funny.

Ok...now YOUR turn.  Remember....NOT a puppet movie but one that contains a small bit in the movie.  There is one obvious one that is also a stage play with marionettes in it....can you guess which movie this is???  If so, do you know the name of the creator of the famous marionettes?

Have fun!

The Santa Clause....punch and judy marrionettes are in santa's bedroom

The sound of music....Bil Baird (I think!)

Spaceballs...alien scene where he puts on a top hat and starts singing "hello my baby, hello my darling"

Sincerely,

Spoon

Nikole...make sure you use paypal with sell.com
I have purchased old show series from the site, but at times it can be frustrating. Make sure the seller has feedback. paypal will give you some insurance.

Otherwise its a cool site to find hard to get dvds.
Good call Henry.

Nikole,

I don't want to be a wet blanket, but there is a very good chance that the DVD isn't an "official" one. I looked at the link, and it may still be very good, just not one that has been licensed and manufactured by the studio - which is why you can't find it on Amazon or other reputable sites. You run into that a lot on sell.com, from what I've seen.

I'm sure that you'll enjoy it though.

EDITED TO ADD:
PS
I was composing my reply when Sonny posted his. He has a lot of experience with this site, and is the one who first pointed it out to me as a source of hard-to-find DVDs, etc.

I know there's no doubt, but it bears repeating... Sonny Vegas is da man!
