preschool scripts anyone? Posted by dreamondreamer on Jul 06, 2008
hi
i would love to find some scripts suitable for preschool children. (i'm a montessori teacher who has no idea about puppetry but wants to learn)
i am based in ireland and puppets are not as popular here for children as they are in many other countries. i feel there is a great opening here for education and entertainment purposes.
i would be happy to buy some scripts just to get some ideas on formats, however all i have been able to find so far are scripts that are 2-3 minutes long. ideally 10-15 minutes would be good. anyone point me in the right direction please?
thanks a mil x

You don't have to buy scripts...try out the free ones. There is a lot of free stuff out there.

thanks for the link billy
also is there anywhere you could buy pre recorded programmes?
just thinking it might be easier rather than trying to manage puppets and voices when you are only learning.
anyone any experience?

Not sure how many pre-recorded puppet scripts there are out there but you might see if your book store has some children's books on tape. Often these are done in different voices or the "narrator" themselves use different voices for each character when they read the book.

thanks shawn think what i'm gonna do is try my hand at writing some stuff myself and see how that goes.
i have ordered a couple of books to get me started, i think i'm just gonna have to slow down a bit and realise this is gonna take time to put together.
thanks again for your help x
