Re: Hi Helen Posted by gompie on Jul 11, 2008
I saw today the postman walking with a big envelop...and yes the patterns arrived.
You took care about how to send the pattern in a nice red map. I took a quick look and it looks great......tonight I'm going to take a better look.
Thanks

Helen sent me a pattern also for review, and I agree with gompie that I really like the fact that it is packaged in a very nice red translucent envelope that you can keep your pattern in.  I know that may increase the cost of the pattern but is a very nice feature. I have already given my "report" to Helen on the pattern so won't go into a whole lot of detail but I do think it is a very solid pattern that well only improve over time with the input she has been getting from everyone.

gompie,
After you go through the pattern and work with it perhaps you could provide Helen with a Dutch translation of the instructions.  I am sure that there are things that well be harder for you to understand since it is in English and that would be one more added option that Helen could add to here pattern!

So glad you got the pattern Gompie - nearly two weeks to get from Scotland to Holland - definitely snail mail - they arrived in America quicker!

Shawn did indeed do a brilliant review of the pattern and gave me lots of suggestions to make changes all of which were great. thanks Shawn!

Just one think he picked up that it's worth mentioning - the pattern instructions say the ears and nose have a zig zag line to indicate the section (not sewn) to be left open for stuffing - forgot to include this in the pattern! Also the Torso pattern piece should have a zig zag line to indicate the section (not sewn) for the arms to be attached. Sorry about this and hope everyone can figure it out.

We're trying to sell our house at the moment and keeping it clean for viewing is keeping me away from the PC!

Have fun making it!

Helen

I saw that th zig-zag line were missing......but that is not a problem for me.

And Shawn,  Indeed I'm translating the pattern in Dutch. But it will take some time........
I'm at step four I think, 6 more to go......................................
