Can't keep up? Nah, I'm just a little too much on the net, and not enough time in the 'real world'!

(Actually, lately my computer sounds like it's going to burst into flames... maybe I should slow down  )

Great book and worth every cent that you spend on it.  However $250.00 is over the top, I bought mine over a year ago at $100.00US.

I sleep with it every night for safe keeping.

Anybody have information on Fettig himself, i.e. is he still living?  I haven't been able to find any bio on him on the web.

As far as I can tell he is still alive.  I have not heard anything any where that he has passed away.

How would one find out this information............... I tried every word I could think of in a google search and everything led me no where. I have even tried to contact a publishing company to see if a reprint was possible but no response. I'm not sure what to do at this point............ but they are enough creative minds here at Puppets and Stuff that we could possibly get it done. All we need is a plan.

Same here Billy.  All I can find are book reviews.  DaSilva doesn't list it either.  I even went to a French online white pages, assuming the info about his living in France is current, and found nothing. I agree that we might be able to influence the publisher and get a second printing done.  I'm sure the reason it's out of print is due to the publisher assuming that reprinting would be done at their loss or at least not enough profit to merit doing so.  Here's food for thought, does a publisher void their copyright by making such decisions based purely on profit motives?  Isn't a copyright supposed to protect a writer from having their original work stolen, and not to protect a publisher from losing money on a license they hold?  Maybe if we can contact Fettig he could be convinced to republish all his work in one bound edition?

the only way to do this is to start with the last known publisher, here you are going to have problems.  Georg Harrap (UK pub) were bought up back in the 1980's, although I can't remember who by.  When this happens the archives get into a real mess, and some publishers ditch old ones as they upgrade to disc.  I will try and trace the history in the UK if you want, once you have the publishing contract you can start to detect out who holds the rights, where the author is now and who represents them.

From what I can tell there was also an edition released by Play inc, although this may be a Harrap US imprint.  I have done this for other publishing rights and it is a bit hit and miss and pot luck trying to track people down.

Just remembered Harrap was bought by the French company Hachette Livre.  They have ditched the imprint but may well be able to hlep.
