... Short answer: no.

Why not try making your own puppets and create a pattern as you go? That's what I've been doing, and it's not at all hard to do.

I would love to make my own patterns, I just dont have any experience in making patterns at all and I thought that if I use remade patterns I can get use to and see how the patterns work. I still dont understand how to make a pattern. Granted I still havent read anything about that, so that could be why lol

Thanks for the help

Well, what I do when I build my puppets (note: I haven't used anything from Project Puppet, but do use The Foam Book) is to make paper patterns of everything as I go. For instance, when I create the mouth, I then lay it down on a piece of paper, trace everything, and then scan it to my computer. From there I clean up the picture, tracing the outlines of important features. Then I print out the picture, compare it to the paper pattern, and then resize it if it's not the same size.

I do the same when making the foam head, and make sure I take all measurements if needed.

Perhaps you need to do more experimental building and develop your own style first, and then make patterns once you're more confident about how to do it.

Although you may make moderations to the patterns from Project Puppet, I'm sure that they would take issue with you using them anyway; and it's better to be safe than sorry.

If you don't have it or have seen it, you should check out The Foam Book, because it teaches you to make your own muppet without providing patterns.

is there anything else in the DVD version thats not in the regular???
If not is the DVD worth paying $20 more?
Re: question about selling Posted by Na on Aug 07, 2008
I haven't gotten the DVD, just the book. I guess though for some people, they prefer the DVD because it's easier to follow with a visual explanation - the book is good; perhaps someone else could post what they think of the DVD.
