Thanks the tie was difficult I could not find any material like that so since he wanted a hobo kind of feel for it I used iron on material and cut yellow dots out of felt.

Do you often have someone do a design on paper and work off that?  I've been exploring this idea lately.

It depends i design all my puppets on paper first. Most clients either have designs they have done or someone has sketched it for them. In some cases they ask me to design them one, in that case i sketch some designs and email them. then build from the designs.
