I use microsoft office live and really like it!  I found it to be easy to use (and I know NOTHING about technology) and easy to keep updating and CHEAP!!!  You can look at my website to see what I did and if you like the things I have.  Just click on the link below my signature!

I use a blogging system called b2evolution. It's a free program, and very flexible. I don't actually use anything to design with (like Dreamweaver or whatever) because the program comes with templates and other things.

I always recommend checking out the free software available out there that you can install on your site, because there are a lot out there, support is excellent, and they can do pretty much what you want them to do without needing to do/know a lot of coding or design.

I use a plain text editor called EditPlus. That is right folks I do it the old fashion way. I do have Dreamweaver but don't use it any more. I just don't like the way WYSIWYG editors create the code for the pages. Often it is not correct code according to web standards.

Shawn's keeping it old skool!

The problem with using Office (or any Microsoft product really) on the web is that MS doesn't support many of the web's standards. I have seen puppeteers do their web sites with MS software only to discover if someone has Firefox or a Mac they can't see it properly.

Just like Shawn, I do most of my coding using a text editor (Notepad++ which is free actually), but if I have do use a WYSIWYG editor I use Dreamweaver and then check the code afterwards to make sure it's valid.

The best way to manage a web site these days I think is to use Wordpress and find a theme that you like or have a custom one made for you.

I use a text editor - notepad - and have just uploaded my changes from HTML to XHTML and style sheets.  Still trying to figure out how to do some things like padding round the photos. Going to change my banner and the colour scheme which is now easy with style sheets.

I enjoy doing my own and it's kind of like a hobby but it does take time. LJ's looks great and it's amazing what you can do without too much effort although Andrew's comment about Firefox was interesting!

Yes, Andrew's right. I only use Firefox, but recently looked at my site with IE. It's amazing how different the browsers make the site look.
