sure these videos are for people to learn. If I did not take suggestions I would not be much of a teacher.

I didn't know there was such a thing as armiture wire.  I just use whatever wire I can find, but yours is clearly superior to mine.  My hands don't stay closed like yours do.  I've twisted wire in a drill before.  It's kinda fun.  Is armiture wire twisted then?  What gauge would you use?

Yep, I wanna see hair stuff too!  Have you guys ever used wool roving before. I love the look but have not figured out a good way to tack it on firmly with hot glue without making a mess.

Ok, dumb question.  What is armiture wire and what does it look like?

Yeah, I'm interested in EVERYTHING that you want to teach about puppet making.  I'm glued to the forum and do you do PayPal?

Armature wire is a special wire used in clay sculpures. It comes in different gauges. I have given some links so you can see.

Thanks Billy for the info on those wires....does any one now where this would be sold in stores....would it be hardware stores?  I think looking at the links that Billy provided it looks like specialty art supply stores, I have those near by but I am not sure if they sell it.  What gauge do you use usually Jay?  Where is this wire used besides armature so that I can find any shops that may sell it instead of buying off the net.  I like to find as many resources in my community for when I need it in a snitch I can get it instead of waiting for the delivery through the net.

I have not heard of bending wire with a drill so that would be a nice workshop video.  I do have a wire bender for piano wire I am sure that I can use it for other wire as well.

I would think that most art supply stores would carry it........... the only other thing that I can compare it to if you were to buy it at a hardware store is like silver solder wire used to bond things together with a soldering gun such as computer parts or jewlery. The only difference would be what the wire is made of (copper, galvanized steel, alluminum, silver). Armature wire just bends real easy and by twisting it together makes it stronger, but of course you knew that.

(UPDATE)
I deleted the gauge conversion chart and will move it to the building section

Wow Billy your like a Billy-Pedia there should be a Billy Wikia site because you always have the answers and links. Those are great resourses I will check my other computer Monday i think I have one more for you.

Now here's the kicker I don't use Armature wire. Its the easiest thing to direct people to because its common for artists and I use it too sometimes it does the same thing. I live in a rual area so i tried to find as much stuff as I can in local stores.

......so what i use is Plummers soilder....its a gauge simular to armature wire you can buy which is why i suggested it. There are many kinds of plummers soilder so i wasn't sure how to direct you to it......guess I could have just shown it I buy it at Lowes.

I will show it next time sorry if it was confusing.

With Plummer solder is there any chance with being poisoned with lead, since most solder's have lead in it?  Do you need to take precautions of any sort?
