I'm working on a few first puppets.  The one that has taken most of my attention is one I can only describe as a beatnik muppet.  My problem is since i'm new to this.  I have limited knowledge of how to make different noses and ears.  The one nose I know how to make isn't fitting well.  The ears .... well the ears I saw a tutorial for and always look awful.

Pictures?  That would help us out a lot at what type of nose and ears you are looking at......

These both can be made many ways some shapes can be done easily while others need some work to be done.

You're absolutely right.. I'll put up a pick tomorrow. 

Here is a simple way to make a small button nose.  Cut a circle of fabric about 2 inches in diameter and doing a running stitch around the perimeter.  Pull the thread to gather and add a small piece of polyfil inside.  Pull the thread tighter and stitch up edges tighter and tighter in a random fashion being sure to pick up stray edges that have not been caught up earlier.  Knot the thread off and glue or stitch gathered end down.  See photos. Hope that helps.  You could in theory use the same idea for ears.
