you can dye it but you have to bring the fur to almost a boil but be careful it could melt if it gets to hot

Once fur gets hot in water it gets a distressed look, which I rather like (think Cookie Monster or Oscar).
I've distressed fur on purpose (without dyeing it). I then rinse with water til clear then put in the spin cycle in the washing machine and then hang dry.
