Puppet Design Help- Materials and Suggestions! Posted by AuthenticPeople on Aug 21, 2008
Hey everyone. I am creating a puppet for my puppet production, and I was planning on creating a
puppet similar to the one shown below:
Message Image
It's an Anything Muppet from Sesame Street, named Ben.

I was thinking of using fleece, but I wasn't sure on this one. Any ideas what I should use?

Also, the nose. Should I use rubber foam wrapped in the material I use for the body or a different foam or something else?
Thanks!

I don't have that good a picture, but to me that looks like a fleece head with a bare foam nose. Personally, I think he would look good in fuzzy fleecel

Get different sample swatches of various types of two way and  four way stretch fabrics. Once you have the puppet build plans down on paper. Take a piece of foam and hold the fabric sample pieces to it next to your drawing. This will give you some idea what you want your character to look like. You don't want it to look just like that picture so try a slighly dofferent look. I would cover the nose with fabeic.

Good Luck............ keep us posted on your progress.
