Jim Henson's Fantastic World Posted by Rcdspoon on Aug 24, 2008
Hey Gang,

Just a little note to tell you that I just got back from a long day in DC...I return from the Jim Henson exhibit that's currently showing at the international gallery. Wow! it was really wicked... Now, I know that some of you think I say that all the time and I do. However, it was really wicked...Some of the things there were the following:
A real Kermit from the 70's
remakes from the real patterns of the hippie and 2 mana ma puppets
A real Rowlf the dog puppet
Some props and drawings from the Dark Crystal
2 fraggle rock puppets Gobo and a Jim Henson fraggle
     Bert and Erine
Two puppets from a fairy tale a King and Duke (sorry I forgot their names)
Three puppets from the old commercial days
A ton of pictures, sketches, storyboards and, paintings
Finally a 45 min film on the man himself
I also have some pictures to share...until I was tackled by the security guard!!! (not kidding on that...he was a big dude!!!)

Ok i posted some pics somewhere but now I can't find them...anyway I try to find them later!!!
Sincerely,

Spoon

Oh - this exhibit is coming to Melbourne next month! I was thinking of going, but it's rather expensive to get in. But if it's that good....

I was in DC last Monday and Tuesday and saw the exhibit! It truly was awesome. I think the thing that surprised me the most was the size of Bert and Ernie. They are huge! This exhibit really is a must see. If you can swing it, drive down to DC and check it out, it is worth the drive.

Spoon-- Saw the signs about no photos or videos and saw the ex large size guards so decided it wasn't worth bodily injury to test the limits.

Next time bring a sketch artist...never seen a sign that says you can't have a sketch artist......food for thought.

You could always take a puppet, and have him or her take the pictures. After all who could argue with a cute little or cute big or even better yet,a big scary(bigger than the security guard)monster. That might that just work! What do you think?!

If someone has a second a two to explain to me how to put new pictures in the    posts I would luv it...I've tried twice now and haven't been able to post them.

Thanks,

Spoon

Spoon - the only way you can post pictures in the forum is if they are already posted somewhere else on the web.  For those who don't have blog or web pages they first need to post their pictures in the Gallery then they can link those pictures to the forum.
