I'm a big fan of Project Puppet patterns.  They are excellent patterns and are for sale on this site:

I like them so much that I own them all.  See the gallery on that site for ideas on what you could make with each pattern.  Most of my puppets are made from these patterns.  They range from simple (glorified sock) to more complex (forma series).  The glorified sock puppet and simple series puppets are smaller in size and and the forma series and monster series are larger in size.

Let me add my welcome! I've been here all of about two weeks, but what a nice neighborhood this is. I've learned SO much. There are rank amateurs like me, and some really professional type folk who are incredibly generous with their time and expertise.
