Clay Puppet Short Films Posted by StopMotionMan on Sep 02, 2008
Hey guys, a while back, I posted here on this forum that I had started working on a clay-animated puppet series called "Fox & Calf." Everyone here was so supportive that I thought I would share the final series with you guys now that it is done. I animated 5 short episodes and you can view them all HERE:

This was such a fun project for me, and I hope in the future I get to do more with these characters (the puppets are about 6 inches tall, probably smaller than Rizzo or Pepe). Also, I don't know how many of you guys make puppets for stop-motion or are interested, but I did a post on my production blog on how to build an armature for a clay puppet, which you can check out if your interested:

Anyways, I hope you guys like the episodes, let me know what you think!

Thanks guys, glad you like 'em. Clay animation does require a lot of patience, but like anything, if you're passionate about it, it just feels like fun.

Gorgeous! I have no patience for stop motion, but absolutely love it. I'm already bookmarking the videos

Very unique character's....great animation.....nice stories......I have done stop animation way back and enjoyed it a lot.  When I did it there was very little information on this subject easily accessible to a high school student.  So I learned and applied basic animation to my methods.  I did some neat work (for a teenager) and enjoyed it.

Thanks for sharing and keep up with the great work....hope you keep sharing with us.

Thanks! Yeah there is so much more info available now thanks to the internet and forums like this. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed animating Stiqman, that's the great thing about the process is that it is enjoyable from the first time you start experimenting, to years later.

Ok.....where do I begin.  First I will start off with OMG HOW FREAKIN' AMAZING IS THAT?!

Yeah....YOU ROCK!!!  I'm thoroughly impressed with everything from music, story line, and artistic creations.  The entire piece is so fantastic.  I can't wait to watch them all.  I just had to post quickly how much I like "The Walk."  So funny with the dead bird and the tie in at the end with the squirrel.  I was giggling the whole time.  Even my three-year-old son wants to watch more.  Your blog is very interesting, too.  If I ever had enough hours in the day, I would think about doing a small claymation project.  Good to know that if ever that day comes, I have you to rely on for information.

Thanks for sharing this and please keep me updated for sure with MORE MORE MORE!  I'm a big Fox and Calf fan now!

Wow, what a sweet reaction, Nikole. Always great to have a fan, also love hearing that kids enjoy. I'm glad you liked "The Walk," that's probably the siliest but one of my favorites.
