Jo-Ann Fabric is a good source for foam. Any fabric store in your area might have it as well. If you receive the Jo-Ann sales flyer or can get ahold of one, there is a coupon in there for 40% off foam. The coupon is valid for next week only. I may buy out my local store's supply because foam is rarely on sale, so this is a nice opportunity.
I'm not sure if the sales run at the same time throughout the US, but you can look Jo-Ann's up online and see if they post your area's sales flyer there. Here's your link:

Welcome and glad you took the time to sign up. You have gotten some great info already and I have nothing further to add at this time. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask and we will find a solution (actually many solutions).
For foam I would look in your "yellow" pages (I am not sure if you have such a title for you business phone books) and look under foam and see if you have any places in and around you. You could be surprised at what you find. I hope this gets you started if that doesn't let us know and we will help you find a place to order on the internet.
Good luck on this exciting adventure for you.

Sorry, LD Ablo, I should have noticed that. Try places that sell fabric, especially places that sell decorator fabric like for recovering furniture and making pillows.
I used to live in England for a short while- Windsor, England, easy walking distance from the Long Walk. I'd take the Long Walk past the castle to get to Peascott Street to go grocery shopping which I did on an almost daily basis. I like English grocery stores- less junk food, good sausages, Ribena. With fall approaching I was thinking and dreaming about those little nuts that are brown and shiny that come off the trees. What are those called again? Conkers? Bangers?
I think a carved foam puppet would be cool too. I have no experience here, but there are some cool sites that feature this. I bet Billy Fuller knows where these are.
