Billy,
That was wild...I was hoping to see some of the footage after reading it in the paper on friday afternoon...the picture the paper had was small and I really didn't get the idea of how big the girl was!!! thanks for the post such a wicked find!
Sincerely,
Spoon

I there work, this one didn't disappoint.....I wish I was there. :'(
I am amazed that they walk among the crowd...most places would have a marked off an area for the spider as well as an area for the crowd so they don't mingle with one another. Not in this situation.
Thanks Billy for the find and share.

I love it! Who sponsers these cool projects? They are incredible! Wouldn't it be fun to be in the control room inside the spider and watch the crowds outside?

If you like that try this, it was a production of War Horse by Michael Morpurgo

Also this which shows a little bit of the puppets in action

Wow, those horses were amazing. And puppet horses would certainly solve weight, feed, and excrement issues.

ALL EXCITING!!! I have loved the giant marionette and the elephant had always been my favorite. I liked imagining living inside the elephant. The spider is fun and I really like the spraying of water and audience surprised reaction.
Then the warhorse! OMG!!! I would love to see that theatrical performance. The details of the movements were shocking. Reminded me of the Lion King puppets but on a grander scale and magnitude. WOW! And did you notice the goose??? The movements of the goose was brilliant but they only showed a snip of it. I loved the steampunk design of it on a wheel but I'm still scratching my head on how the head was made. I'm sure the rolling movement helped in that process with gears and whatnots. I would LOVE to see more.
Thank you all for sharing such wonderful links. Put a needed smile on my face this morning. Very inspirational indeed!
