She will certainly brighten up peoples day....what a wonderful...cheerful puppet. She blends right in with the flowers....is this for a client or personal use?
Great pictures by the way.

Now I would love to find this sitting among my potted plants on my porch as I go out to get the morning paper. Doesn't look like it would require much water. Just some TLC. Great job Gav.

I've had the idea in my head forever of a stand alone flower puppet in a pot. One you can put up on the shelf to complement real flowers. I made it for my mother for Christmas =)

She's brilliant Gav! It would be fun to have one in the garden in summer and see folks reaction when they spot her!

My butterfly puppets would like to visit her.
I might just have to make a flower puppet too.
Helen: I like the way you are thinking. I would like to put muppet eyes on everyday objects but I'm affraid people will think I'm nuts. I think my washer and dryer could use some expressive peepers.
Do any of you guys integrate puppets or puppet expressions into your decor? I'm thinking Gav's got a fun gift idea here too.

What a beautiful butterfly. How did you make the wings? My daughter has been trying to get me to make a butterfly puppet for my bug cast and I just haven't been able to think through the wings.
Re: My latest puppet Posted by puppetlady on Sep 07, 2008
I didn't make the wings. They were purchased. It's possible to make wings though, if you are motivated. www.threadbanger.com has a fairy wing tutorial that makes it look easy. The wings I used were $6. I'd rather buy them at that price.

Is this the one you were referring to ?

I have a bunch of stuff about wings filed away..........In my studies on making fairies and soft sculptured dolls. Just use some 18 or 20 gauge wire and a pair of white pantyhose. Some food coloring (mix it like you would to dye easter eggs recipe) to paint on your designs add some iridescent glitter and you have some wings. With halloween coming up make sure you check the dollar stores and of course the after halloween sale.
