Looks great. So the spring keeps the eyelids open and the key ring closes them is that how it works?

The way I bent the wire for the lids makes them half open/closed at the resting stage(which is what the spring maintains). The keyring loop allows me to pull down which raises the lids wide open. So his design movement range is from half open to fully open. I suppose you can vary that depending on the angle  you bend the lid wire to the horizontal lever.  I can close his eyes if I wanted to , I would have to push up on the lever loop, but I kinda design him in mind to normally have that evil stare with lids at half open all the time.

I found these springs at my local Ace hardware store here in the midwest. They had a variety of strengths and sizes to choose from...cost me something like 60 cents.
