I love that simple style of marionette.  My son has made one in that style and I have thought "Thant is something I may be able to do!" But I never do it!  With your inspiration I just may try.  THANKS for sharing - it was very fun to see!

My kids are big on little monster hand puppets.  They are simple -- like a mitten with two thumbs.  My 6 and 10 year old can sew their own with mom's help and then I glue eyes on.  Of all the fancy puppets I make, it's these little monsters that get dragged to the car to the grocery store or to bed every night. 

Maybe your alien would make for a fun Halloween show and dance for the kids.

Actually we are doing a little shop of horrors theme for halloween...I'm going to build an audrey II and we are going to dress up the outside of the house with attacking plants...anyway that's the idea will see how it comes out!
