Mendel's, the place Billy recommended, will give you up to five samples for free.  I just requested some myself via the internet link he provided.  It was easy.

It was a bit pricey, but sometimes you need what you need. The fur just arrived today, and it is terrific! Now, snip, snip, cut, cut, sew, sew, glue, glue, it's back to work!
