The antenae are made from pipe cleaners. I will have to stiffen them for future videos. I will be showing the videos on the big screen before service starts. I really didn't want to have to redo the Sunny video, but if the antenae are causing a problem I'll redo it and see what happens. thanks for the feedback.

I love the idea of advertising at church for puppet help with a video! Your green screen worked great!
Re: Test Video Posted by jomama on Oct 10, 2008
Here is the third video, it isn't exactly how I wanted, but couldn't figure out how to self destruct the computer easily. I didn't want to have to do heavy duty visual effects, so eliminated the smoking disk altogether. So give me some feedback please.

I like this one Sue....................... I think you got it. Simple right to the point. If this don't bring voices back to the puppets then i don't know what will. I love this type creativity in church. How exciting !

I think the video works fine without a self destruct of the computer. For future reference if you do need an explosion, remember that you don't really have to go high tech. You could have used the old turkey baster with talcum powder in it. Another option is a fire extinguisher. They give a really nice blast of smoke that would have more then likely obscured the entire scene. You could actually take the existing video and simply add the sound effect of an explosion at the end once it went to the end credits.
Re: Test Video Posted by jomama on Oct 11, 2008
I didn't want an explosion, just the smoke curling out from the computer, and I don't have a turkey baster so I opted for cutting the smoke altogether. I thought of flash paper, but didn't want to drive to the magic shop to get it, I know, I know, sacrifice for my craft. I wanted to try to stay true to the original MI as possible. Thanks for the feedback.

Like Puppetfreak, I want to be a voice! I really liked your video commercials, they were a lot of fun. I am curious, what are you using for a green screen? I've played with the idea of doing green screen stuff for a long time, but never did anything about it. All the folks around here are getting me inspiried.

I like this one the best.

I
I'm using a green screen fabric that came with my Pinnacle Studio software. I've had it for years but never used it, and it was packed in a box somewhere. It is true green screen color, but before I found it the other day, I had been experimenting with different fabrics. This particular shade of green is used because it can be eliminated from the background without affecting human skin tones. I used a florescent green and used my color selection in the software to get close to the color and it works fine. You could use any solid color as long as you light it evenly and don't have a similar color in the puppet or whatever you're filming. Also If there is a reflective surface in anything, you have to be careful or the reflection will also take on the green screen affect. Looks pretty cool to have a brick wall for your laptop case
For all you who want to be a puppet voice, let me think on that one a bit. I've got a crazy idea rolling around in my head and I'll get back to you.
