Dutch puppet introducing with her first puppet! Posted by dutch puppet on Oct 12, 2008

Hi there everyone!

I'm Dutch Puppet, a mother of three young girls and as the name already explains I'm from Holland, and just starting with puppet making. I really enjoy making these interactive puppets. My three daughters are also very enthusiastic and they now only want to talk with the puppet instead of me! The schoolteachers are also mad about the puppets, so they are coming to make one for themselves in a workshop within a few months.

Hope you like the first one! It looks a bit like a black jazz artist, but my girls named him grandpa Jan. Because he's grey haired.

Within a short time there will be more! Can't wait to start with the next one. If there is anyone who can give tips or patterns... I'm thankfull...

BTW are there more people from Holland on this forum?

Thank you Sara! I'm really proud of it. I only worked on it for two evenings (about 4 hours in total). Learned already making this first one, so I can't wait making the next one!

Good job!  Welcome to P&S!  I've made some of these too, but had a hard time manipulating the mouth on my first two.  I added a hand grip in my third.  Does your mouth move easily enough?  I'd love to have another solution to this problem.

Sorry guys but I'm going to say something in out own language...

about a pattern Helen a question for you I have your pattern at home but because of my very busy family an d a child with a handicap I have no time to try your pattern. Can I send it to dutch puppet so she can try it for me...... (and may I keep a copy of it??? )
