I know I'm a day late but I just wanted to say welcome to pupets and stuff.  I can see that you have some talent for puppet building.  You've built a great puppet.

BTW are there more people from Holland on this forum?

I see that Gompie has answered this question for you.   I think there may be a couple other members from your area also if they where not removed the last time I cleaned up the membership database. I need to work on the Membership search program so folks can find others in there area or country.

Welcome here.  The people here are great.  I too am just getting started.  I am enjoying the pattern from project puppets (roly).  It isn't free but only $25.  Not sure how the dutch dollar is compared to the US, but there aren't any shipping fees as it is downloadable.  Good luck with your future creations.

Good job!  Welcome to P&S!  I've made some of these too, but had a hard time manipulating the mouth on my first two.  I added a hand grip in my third.  Does your mouth move easily enough?  I'd love to have another solution to this problem.

You're right. The mouth is hard to handle. Thought it was a mistake in the pattern (maybe I'd cut it to small). But I'm happy to hear your solution! Please inform me!

He looks great! What material did you use for the 'skin'?

Here in Holland we use this material for isolation of buildings. We can buy these foams in stores for building materials for approximately 10 euro's (1 meter by 0,5 meter). One side is flat, the other one is bumpy. This material is always black.

This week I bought foam, but the marketman told me that all the light coloured foam will colour yellow because of exposing to light. Do you have this problem too? And does anyone have a solution for it?

Interesting - I've never seen that kind of foam in Australia.

Yes, any foam will discolour after a while if left out in the air, particularly light-coloured ones (I use a white foam which turns yellow after a while). To make it last longer, keep the foam in an air-tight container when not using it.
