Puppets' height - a website Posted by tsu on Oct 18, 2008
Hi there,
I'd like to ask if any of you knows one of the puppets' pages where the diagram with approximate heights of the puppets was?
I remember there was a chart with the puppets' pictures and how tall they are on it and there was even a comparison between them and approx female puppeteer height...
Does it ring a bell to anyone?

Thanks Na!
I've been googling for it on a variety of ways, using a lot of different possible phrases, but with no results so far...

Got it:
http://www.puppetproductions.com/
.... Took me a while. I knew I'd seen it, but like you, couldn't remember where.

You're welcome!
I tried "puppets buy", because I knew it was on a seller's site; that didn't actually help. I thought I might have bookmarked it, but my bookmarks list is huge and searching for "height" didn't work. In the end I just ... well... happened across it via puppetresources.com from the links page there.

I'm like Na I have so many favorites I can't remember who, what, when, or where I put it. I'm not sure if I have ever seen a chart that compares the puppets size in comparison to the human which would help you in determining the correct size to build a puppet.
I did find this chart of a human drawing " proportions of the human figure " which allows you to scale a sculpture or very helpful in doll making. I don't see why it would not work in scaling the size of a human vs a puppet.

@Na - Hah! Nice one then!
I'll do a little offtopic now (or maybe not cuz it's still around the height of the puppets) - how tall your puppets usually are?
Hmm... Oh, I think it would be good question for a new thread one day - I'm really curious (I'm going to create a puppet, my first one ever, that is approximately 70-80cm/28-31" tall...).
@Billy - do not worry, Na already found the page I was interested in. That chart on it just shows approximate heights of some kind of puppets and there is a picture of a puppeteer as well to compare the size of the head and body of the puppet.
Ps. This picture given by you is kinda interesting, not just for preparing a doll but even to find out I'm proportional or not hahaha! Must check it out! :D
And same here! with bookmarked stuff - sometimes I bookmark sites because they seem to be helpful in the future, I even do not change the title of them and then, when I want to find something concrete... Oh my God: "where it was? I've got 100 sites and dunno what's on them and where was that kind of info!".
