they will work for sure you have to just find smaller ones on eBay. they're there for sure and surely in white too.

Crepe hair is the same as wool roving or mohair as others have mentioned. It comes often in 12 inch pieces or braided to give it a curly look. The hair comes from sheep or other wool producing animals. Most doll craft suppliers carries this product.

Yes its the same stuff used to make fake beards for stage and film. If you don't want it curly you just wet it and let it dry drapped over a curtain rod overnight. Its great stuff!!! I will be using some to make a king character a little later.

Cool!!!  I'll have to keep creped hair in mind if I need a character with long hair and other less complicated options aren't going to work.

I looked up crepe hair, I think it could work out great for Father Crayon's beard! And i hope that's soon so I could use it for Father Crayon C:

I just went to the fabric store today, got everything [well almost everything] I needed at 50% off! Woo!

Crepe hair looks like the perfect material for my bad guy character's beard and mustache. My question would be, how far does a 12" braid of crepe hair go? If I'm going to make a beard-line that stretches from ear to ear, and that is a 15" distance, how many braids would I need? The beard needs to be quite long and bushy.

It also comes by the yard to. It goes quite far depending on how long you need it to be. remember it does not have to completely be made from crepe hair. You can build a structure under it and then use crepe all around it so it deos not need to be so think but still have the look and flow of thick hair.
