Has anyone every used felting as part of puppet making Posted by newmodeller on Nov 16, 2008
  Hi all,

it seems an age since I had anything to post about.  Due to two things, one teaching is a FULL TIME job (ie I still seem to be working after I have put the kids to bed) and I have found a new passion.

I have been learning to make my own felt, both wet felting and needle felting, it is fantastically addictive and I am beginning to wonder if there is a way of combining my new found hobby with making puppets.
Anyone out there had a try?  What did you do?

I never have but I have seen where people have made finger puppets using needle felting techniques.  If you knit it could be fun to wet felt a puppet.  I have a knitted puppet, it was given to me nearly twenty years ago.  I think if you were to make one bigger (wet felting does shrink what ever you felting)  it would make a great wet felted puppet.
