Recording Music for a Wedding Posted by Billy D. Fuller on May 11, 2009
I need your help? Since some of you use pre-recorded audio for puppet shows I thought this would be the appropriate area to post my question. I am in charge of a complete wedding this month and need help with the music.

Here is my question  ..... I need to record four songs on to a CD with each song fading in to the other. This CD must be able to play on a portable CD player hook up to outside speakers.

I have tried using windows media player with no luck and I used Sonic Burner and my songs did not burn in the correct order to be played back for the wedding. Does anyone have a suggestion. I know this is not puppet related but it is under P&S "Stuff" section.

Billy, Do the songs need to be seperate tracks?  I would recommend Audacity sound editing software. It is free and can be found at www.audacity.sourceforge.net You can import audio into your track and add the songs one right after the other on the same track. Fade in and out and add silences and all sorts of good stuff. Save as wav or mp3 then burn in WMP.

This is the program I use for recording all my skits and it works great! Easy to use and it does a great job.

Any more questions feel free to pm me.

I dito Sue's suggestion.  I have used Audacity in the past and it is pretty easy to use.   I have never tried importing then into WMP to make a CD but would imagine that would be easy.

Definitely go with Sue's suggestion!
However, if you also have "Windows Movie Maker" it's possible to import the songs you're going to use, place them in the timeline, right click each of them and click the "Fade In" and "Fade Out."
Then export as an MP3 or WAV and burn to a CD
Best of luck!

Yes, Windows Movie Maker is exceptionally easy to use.  I just used that for one of my children's ministry seminars.  I made a presentation with pictures over music, and saved it all to a flash drive.
I'm sure that either of these would be great.

What a silly question. When is the groom EVER in charge of a wedding?
