artist in residency puppets Posted by LJ on Nov 28, 2009
I have an audition with the Iowa Arts Council on Wednesday for the performing and teaching rosters, so I have been busy working on my audition plan.  I wanted to post a few pictures of some children that I "borrowed" to do a test run of the plan I have. It worked out well and they all had fun. Of course it was small scale with only part of the whole cast of the story - Big Bad Wolf is Good - being represented but we were able to see if it would work the way I had it planned. Wish me luck on Wednesday!

Well, I am off to my audition!  I will let you all know how it goes.  A new venture for me in my performing. Not very many puppeteers on the artist roster so I am hoping that I have no problems getting approved!

Thanks for all your well-wishes!  I am back and I think it went well, but now I have the WAITING!!  No good at that!  Thank goodness I have lots of shows to keep me occupied until I hear something back from them!

At least you feel it went well - the best interviews/auditions are generally those where you come out feeling good about it. Hope you get it!

Sorry I didn't get to say this before you went in but "chookas!"
I think that might be a uniquely Australian term but it is very intrenched in the professional performing culture as another way to say break a leg!

Just wanted you all to know that I received a letter from the Iowa Arts Council right before Christmas and I have been accepted for both the Teaching and Performing Artists Rosters!  Thanks for all your well-wishes!!  Now I have to write out my plan so I am ready if I get hired!  Of course all the grant money for this school year is used up so schools will not have any money to access until next school year. Anyway that was good news!!
