Bronwyn - Felt Doll Posted by Rosie H on Jun 13, 2011
I'm busy making up the instructions for Bronwyn, so I can sell the pattern in my shop. She stands at around 18" tall. She's 'Spring' in the collection of forest characters. She heralds in the spring by sprinkling flowers, and she feeds the birds with her berries. The basket should be full of colored flowers and berries.

I love the art of doll making................Is spring the first of a collection of patterns?

Yes, that's right, she has sisters, that depict summer, autumn/fall, winter. They vary in design depending on the season.

Great! I love the fantasy style. Will you show her sisters, too?

So you'll be selling the patterns in your etsy shop? She looks great. You know I wonder if the pattern could be used to make a marionette. I may have to buy it once you get it done and see what would be needed to convert it.

Rikka, her sisters are still in my head, I haven't made them yet, they will be similar but distinctly different in the coloring, clothing and accessories.
That would be interesting to see Shawn, Bronwyn carved? I'll let you know when she up at etsy but you should probably by her from my craft website, it will be always less than the etsy shop. She will be a pdf file too.

So that would be on the Wordpress site here? http://rosecottagecrafts.wordpress.com/products-for-sale/
I was actually thinking not to carve here but us your pattern and modify it to have the correct joints for a marionette. When I was still a wee kid my first book about puppets was called "Marionettes, Easy to make! Fun to use!" by Edith Flack Ackley. It had pattens and they where all cloth dolls with joints in them. It was a great way to learn the basics of how a marionette worked. Since it was a pattern it easy to follow and end up with something I was proud of. Ok I admit... I had help from my mom.
