70's Kid Project "Barnyard Frolics" Posted by Shawn on May 01, 2012
I wanted to ask you guys if this rings any bells with you. I got this via the contact page.
I'm looking for a script for the Barnyard Frolics puppet show. This was something published probably in the 70s. My Mom found the script & directions for making all of the puppets & helped a friend and I put on the puppet show for my school & neighborhood. I recently found all of the puppets in a box but would like to find a copy of the script to share with my own  children. Any suggestions on where I could find it?
Thanks!
As always I'll point the person back to this thread and report back to them anything you might know or find out.  My guess is that it was one of those projects in a craft or kids magazine.  There was a radio show in Detroit call "Barnyard Frolics" but I don't think it is related.

Ok I found a bit more information.  Looks like it was published in Woman's Day somewhere around 1965.  Now if we can just find a copy.

I wonder if it was the January issue "Dictionary of Dolls".  Hard to tell without more info.  I might try visiting the library when I can find the time and see if maybe I can find back issues there. I did relay my findings on so and she emailed me  back to say she was also on the look out now that she had more information.

If we knew the actual month, there are back issues on sale on Ebay.

Although, I wonder was it actually in the magazine itself, or was it one of those separate pamphlet type things. I remember my mom used to get Womans Day, but would also receive the smaller ones that were specific to one topic, like cooking or quilting.
If so, that could make it really tough to find.

If I found it right, it was the Christmas special 1967. See if it's that: http://books.google.de/books?id=2johAQAAIAAJ&pg=PA2554&lpg=PA2554&dq=%22Barnyard+Frolics%22+%22Woman%27s+Day%22&source=bl&ots=rI0R65cnKo&sig=LdwAKRlgXRslpghqCSbN4OIiUJ8&hl=de&sa=X&ei=MTChT_56oqHiBIS75ZgJ&ved=0CCUQ6AEwAA#v=onepage&q=%22Barnyard%20Frolics%22%20%22Woman%27s%20Day%22&f=false
First column, End of page (highlighted yellow). You might want to magnify it because the writing is tiny.

I guess you could ask this seller to look inside the magazine and see if "barnyard frolics" is there

Yes I saw that same page Rikka but could not really figure out what it meant.   You are right Gary that without knowing for sure the month or issue it is hard and it could have been a supplement they sent out.  I tried to find a link on the current Women's Day site that would lead me to back issues or history but they are all about selling the current stuff.
