Hi Everybody,

For a year and a half, I could not do anything. I could barely draw because I did not have good light, I could not do any puppets because of the lack of space, ventilation and lighting. And now that I have moved into my new home, the requests have been pooring in. I have to do about 4 portraits for this Christmas, one that I will sell to a client, 3 marionnettes that I will offer for Christmas next year, and now I just received a request to do a puppet for a baby that is not yet born. Of all these requests, one portrait and one marionnette will be paid to me. But I am so happy, things are finally moving and they are moving fast. All this will give me alot of experience and it will permit me to be a few steps closer to realising my dream of living as a full time artist at home.

I guess I just had to share in the good news!!!!
If I have any questions regarding my puppet that I will be doing, I will of course ask you guys. I will use my Glorified Sock Puppet Pattern for that. I dont have yet any idea about how it will turn out, but I will let you guys know cuz I will post pictures as I will go along.

I am almost back on track. I have now moved into my new home and I am just about ready to start making puppets again. So I will be here more often now. I really missed all of you guys.

Oh, and Shawn, I saw the 3 videos you did on how to paint a marionette head you did last thursday and I thought they were great! It was really nice to see how you proceed from start to finish so to speak.

Maybe you could bring one of your own puppets and show them how to improve their design and still keep their own style. Positive criticism is the key. Tell them what you think is nice and suggest a few tips and tricks that could make the puppets even better.

Hi Magicman, I am so sorry about your loss. When you were talking about how to retire the puppet, all I could see in my mind is maybe put it on a stand, put the stand in a plexyglass box with a nice commemorative plaque in front and have it on display for all to see and remember him. Maybe that could be a nice tribute to your friends, his life and his work.

It was awsome once again. Thank you Shawn for all your help. You have answered some very big questions I had. You did a great job, cant wait to see the next step in the process into making a marionette. Once again, great job!!!

I was not sure how to proceed since it was embeded directly into a facebook link. So it is the reason why I decided to share it with you since you know how to do this kind of thing much more than me. I really enjoyed that video. I found the way they intergrated the different medium's a real pleasure to watch. It took me some time before I realised that the hands of the players are real and not puppetty.
