Re: Dead Arm.... Posted in Dead Arm.... on Jan 07, 2011
Just stuff the other arm and string it up to the puppets head the way they have Big Birds arm strung up.   You don't have to string it up really but gives the arm some extra life. I think you could leave the arm off if you wanted to also.  The design of a Borsa pattern is such that you have the impression that you are looking at the shoulders of the puppet and if you left it off it would look like the other hand was behind the play board.  Cookie Monster is this style of puppet and I am sure you have seen him in shots where only his one arm is being operated.

I do hope your kitty will be ok. I have both a cat and a dog and I know how much joy they bring me.

I can't wait!  You know if they keep this up I'll be able to shut down Puppets and Stuff since there won't be a need for it any more.

Re: Getting puppeteers higher... Posted in Getting puppeteers higher... on Jan 04, 2011
Why not make the tall folks adjust.   I am not sure what the difference is in height, but I often preformed with a shorter partner. First of our main playing area was normally lower and we had rolling stools that we sat on to preform here. That is pretty easy to adjust since mine was lower then hers. We did have an upper back playing area on many shows, but there I just bent over a bit to preform.

Very cool!  The wings work great!  They have what are called teddy bear or doll joints that are very much like what the eyes are with the post and a large flat disk on each side. You could have used those also to attach your wings.
