Did you know you could be revealing your address in your photos? Posted in Did you know you could be revealing your address in your photos? on Aug 22, 2010
I know that posting images of your puppets has become very popular both here and other places, and in fact posting pictures in general on the world wide web is pretty common now.  Did you realize that you could be giving out your home address when you post them? There is a feature on most phones that take pictures and on many digital cameras called geo tagging that actually embeds the longitude and latitude of where the image was taken into the image itself.  This information can be easily read by anyone. I personally am not too concerned by it but thought it was worth passing on the information to others. Here at Puppets and Stuff when you upload an image to the Gallery, this info is wiped from the thumbnail images that are created to reduce the size but it could still be in the original image you uploaded.

You can find out more about this in this article: http://www.nytimes.com/2010/08/12/technology/personaltech/12basics.html

If you want to check your photos on the net and use FireFox then you can use this plugin to do so: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3905/

Fantastic promo video!  I too love the tie in to your logo for each puppet.  This really showcases some great things about your show. I know libraries and schools are always looking for programs or performers who can tie into a the current curriculum or program and your ability to do that really shines in this video.
Puppeteer Susan Keene? Posted in Puppeteer Susan Keene? on Aug 17, 2010
I received an email form someone looking for information on puppets made by Susan Keene.  I think they are looking for what they are worth.  I've never heard the name before.  Anyone know of this puppeteer?  The person is working with a senior citizen who is clearing out their collection of these puppets.  If you have any information or perhaps interest in the collection please post.  I'll suggest that they sign up and post also in case they can supply some more information.

Well if Billy does not somehow come up with the answer (seems he can find anything) , perhaps if you contact the textile company they would know.
Re: Serger Recommendation Posted in Serger Recommendation on Aug 15, 2010
I've never really had to compare sergers. I think for the most part I have always used Bernina models. You might want to check this page. http://products.howstuffworks.com/serger-overlock-machine-reviews.htm  They list a Brother that has a pretty good rating and although they do not give a price Brother brand machines are normally less.

A few hours a day, a few times a week is pretty hefty use on a machine. While up front cost may be more, it might be worth it to go for another Bernina. I would hate to see you go for a less expensive product that ended up turning a few hours of work into 6 hours of work because of problems with the machine or if you had to keep having to repair it. Then again when I go in the work on pre-production for the Rockettes each year my favorite machine is a cheap Janome that no one else wants to use and I run it 6 or more hours each day for about a month.   It is hard to know sometimes how well a cheaper model well hold up... just some food for thought.

It is good to hear that this project has a future!  Looks spectacular!  I just have one question?  Did the puppeteers work long hours without showering on this project?
The Moose Is Loose

Sorry the images are not available for embed so you have to follow the link to see why I ask the question.

In Independence Mo (a suburb of Kansas City Mo) there is the Puppetry Arts Institute. While it sounds like a school it's main focus is it's museum.  They do workshops and shows from time to time.
