All styles of puppetry are welcome here at Puppets and Stuff! Billy has already pointed you to just one of the recent threads on the subject and there are others. In fact there have been two others that I can think of in the last year or so off the top of my head that featured sock puppets made during one of Daryl's Blog TV sessions.

I love the puppet eyes on his grad hat... what is the right name for those again? He did great on his puppet! You must be proud.
Re: Really busy!! Posted in Really busy!! on May 14, 2010
I would really prefer if we keep things politically correct and call it the "To busy lately club for persons.". I started to say that it should be "To busy lately club for puppeteers.", but thought the doll makers and other related crafts persons we have here might get upset.
I do hope everyone knows my tong is solidly in my cheek.

MissElly,
As Na mentioned $1 per child for a show is very reasonable. It does sound like it would be difficult to make any real money at the price but I like the idea of a show being reasonable in price for the consumer. I would think that at the price even smaller groups could afford your shows which is nice. For example a small daycare with only say 10 to 20 kids would be able to afford you. The thing you have to think about though is if you would need to add some type of limits. For example if a daycare that is 50 miles away that has 10 kids calls and wants a show is it going to be worth it to you to drive that far for only $10.
I think you would receive more joy out of doing the performances with your puppets instead of selling them. When you start selling things it can become a chore to keep up on making the inventory.

Re: What Licenses and certifications Do I Need? Posted in What Licenses and certifications Do I Need? on May 07, 2010
Na is pretty spot on with things. There really is not need to incorporate and I think as a rule that even in the US people only do it if they are a not for profit. If you are doing shows at schools and such then it is a good idea to look at liability insurance. You don't even need that legally in most areas, it is just a good idea although some school systems or libraries do require it.
