Re: propateer Posted in propateer on May 24, 2009
I think that Propateer is kind of a made up word.   Props are the things that actors hold in a stage show.  This is the same for in a puppet show.  In theater someone who would be responsible for keeping track of the props would be called the Props Person.  I think that Sue calls them a Propateer instead.

I like your idea of retiring the puppet also.  I think it is fitting.  While it perhaps would be nice for his voice to live on through the puppet, that  may be just to hard for people to handle.

Miguel if just clicking on them does not bring up a window to save to your computer then try right clicking on the and looking for "Save Link As..."

BTW The last link looks like it broken but I'll try to fix it.

Opps sorry I was wrong about that... looks like it is a file hosting site.  Look for Download for free with FileFactory Basic on each page and click it then follow the directions on the next page.
Re: Things are going to look different on BlogTV..... Posted in Things are going to look different on BlogTV..... on May 21, 2009
Just to clarify things... The show will be held in the same location.  I'll be logged in under Daryl's account so will show up as stigpuppetslive in the chat room.

As Darly mentioned I'll be continuing on with the sculpting the head tonight. I realized that it is still missing quite a bit.  I plan to try and review a bit what happened in the first two sessions then work on finishing off the sculpting.  I think this well make it easier for me to keep track of the chat and answering any questions you may have.

Hope to see you all there!

Wow!  That is some great cinematography! Very well done.  The ping pong eyes work really well for this guy don't they? Billy, do you know the background on the video?  Was it just a personal project?

Both where very cool. The first one really does show off a variety of talents of it's creators.

There is also something called a Flash Drive or Stick Drive. Wikipedia Refrence They fit in your USB port and are real small.  Great for taking with you.  I am not sure what the top limit is on storage but I see one at the moment as large as 64GB on the Google Product Search for them.  There is even one there that looks like a hamburger.

I have a flash drive... now where did I put that.... that is the only problem with them.... remembering where you put them.
Re: Giant round-head puppet pattern Posted in Giant round-head puppet pattern on May 16, 2009
I think that Billy is correct.  You should be able to use the pattern as a base to make mascot heads!  I would think that you would need to use a denser foam like EVA and maybe 1" thick unless you added some type of internal support.

I hope they did not charge you for their mistake.

It is just fabric.  These are stuffed animal patterns so they would need to be modified to be used as puppets.

Neat!  How many takes did it take to do the vocabulary lesson.   Great job... did you use green screen or is that a "real" background. Now all you need is a theme song.
