70's Kid Project "Barnyard Frolics" Posted in 70's Kid Project "Barnyard Frolics" on May 01, 2012
I wanted to ask you guys if this rings any bells with you. I got this via the contact page.
I'm looking for a script for the Barnyard Frolics puppet show. This was something published probably in the 70s. My Mom found the script & directions for making all of the puppets & helped a friend and I put on the puppet show for my school & neighborhood. I recently found all of the puppets in a box but would like to find a copy of the script to share with my own children. Any suggestions on where I could find it?As always I'll point the person back to this thread and report back to them anything you might know or find out. My guess is that it was one of those projects in a craft or kids magazine. There was a radio show in Detroit call "Barnyard Frolics" but I don't think it is related.
Thanks!

Since I know we have some Dr. Who fans I thought I would share this YouTube find.
Even if you are not a Dr. Who fan you have to admit it is impressive. If you check out the guys page on YouTube he does a lot of pieces to that you would not expect.

Woo Hoo! Love it! Of course from the accent I have to assume this is going to be presented across the pond which means I won't get to see it. Even if it made it to Broadway I most likely would not make it. Still have not been able to see "War Hourse".

Wow... looks like she really has quite a collection there! I only watched the preview... I'll have to try and catch the full episode some time.

I applaud you for sending off the email! While I don't normally get to worked up over this issue I see no reason why a gentle reminder does not hurt. I try my best to correct people when I can but don't push it. Heck even the correct term to use is often argued over. I've always used "hand in mouth" as the type of puppetry that is associated with the Muppets. Not everyone agrees with me on that even.
Yes try and educate but try not to let it ruin your day when folks won't listen. I think I'll go have me a coke now while I blow my nose on a kleenex... ahh I mean Pepsi and nose tissue.

Re: Remodeling of Stage Posted in Remodeling of Stage on Apr 24, 2012
While you are not going to be painting the stage for productions, I bet you well be painting it black again more times then you realize. Think about all those dirty feet walking on it and all the heavy things dropped on it that leave a small scrape or gash showing the raw wood.
I would say stick with latex. Cheaper, cleaner and dries faster as a rule.

I am not a member but I think maybe we have a couple members who are. I know that there have been links posted before to images there for inspiration. I never realized though that they had an Artisan Crafts category. I always thought they where a 2 dimensional art site.

Why not just make it an Amazon gift card? That way someone could use it for what they wanted.

Re: Question about gallery comments Posted in Question about gallery comments on Apr 17, 2012
Yep this one is a bit elusive. The way you can start "watching" for comments in your album or on the entire Gallery is hidden in the upper left block under the random image when you are actually in the Gallery. If you want to get emails for every comment added to the whole gallery then click on the "Watch" link at the bottom right after "View Latest Comments". You'll see two tick boxes on the next page. One for "Subscribe" and one for "Apply to sub items". If you choose both then it will send you an email for all comments in the Gallery. Now if you just want to get notified when a comment is added to your User Album then navigate to it and do the same thing. I know a bit squirrely but it kind of works.
I watch the entire Gallery and try to check each comment and answer them since I know that not everyone follows the comments. It probably is best to simply PM the user if you do have a direct questions. Even that is a bit hard since you have to move back to the Forum and hunt down their profile based on the name of the album.
Both Gallery and SMF have new program systems now and they are both a lot better and easier to navigate. The bad thing is that there is no way to connect the two yet. I've actually been looking at the issue the past couple days. All part of trying to get everything updated but it is going to take time.
